NAIOP began in 1967 as a small group of owners and developers of industrial parks in the eastern U.S. who formed the National Association of Industrial Parks (NAIP) to facilitate a forum for the open exchange of information on development. Nine individuals first met on September 12, 1967, in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. In 1976, to reflect changes occurring within membership, NAIP became NAIOP. NAIOP is now a leading commercial real estate industry provider of unparalleled networking opportunities, educational programs, research on trends and innovations and strong legislative representation (naiop.org).
According to the NAIOP website, the mission of the organization is to provide advocacy, education and business opportunities by connecting members in a powerful North American network in the commercial real estate development and investment industry (naiop.org).
As a general contractor in southern Nevada, it was important for our company to be a part of the Southern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP and actively participate in events, programs, etc. in order to better keep up with all things commercial real estate and development in Las Vegas. As an active member of NAIOP Southern Nevada, key team members have the opportunity to attend events hosted by NAIOP that offer our team not only outstanding networking opportunities but also great opportunities to share more about the SR brand.
SR Construction is a Bronze President Circle Sponsor for the southern Nevada NAIOP Chapter. As a sponsor, we have the opportunity to attend the NAIOP breakfast meetings, monthly forecast events, the NAIOP bus tour, and the Spotlight Awards. These are all terrific opportunities for us to learn more about what is going on in the industry and meet key leaders within our market.
NAIOP is an incredible organization that brings leading developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate together. As we continue to grow at SR, it is important for our team members to stay up to date on the economy and construction industry in southern Nevada, and NAIOP allows our team to do that. It is also great to be a part of an organization that continues to bring professionals from similar industries together to advance responsible, sustainable development that creates jobs and benefits the local community.
