Project Engineer

Description:

Responsible for providing organization, planning and support to all project management efforts in order to meet the operational goals of SR Construction in accordance with the “expectations” for the Project Manager.  Responsible for efficient delivery of the “SR Built” process without sacrificing the company’s commitment to quality, integrity and profits consistent with the objectives of SR Construction.

Duties:

  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in transitioning from project/jobsite closeout and demobilization to project/jobsite mobilization.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop and status the project schedule.
  • Review all plans and specifications in order to understand the scope of work and contribute during contract buyout and contract execution.
  • Maintain current drawing sets.
  • Review shop drawings.
  • Review and support Project Manager during contract buyout to insure completeness of contract scopes of work and familiarity with contract execution.
  • Create a submittal and procurement schedule to insure the timeliness and tracking of submittal items and long lead items. Review and process subcontractor submittals for adherence to the specifications.
  • Control all long-lead items and report any problems to PM/Superintendent.
  • Initialize project document logs to include RFI's, Transmittals, and Submittals.
  • Attend all project meetings creating (in Procore) and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Research and find solutions for technical problems
  • Identify concerns regarding drawings.
  • Identify quality assurance concerns.
  • Obtain and track all permits to insure project schedule is not impacted.
  • Create and maintain a file of project progress photos of overall construction.
  • Assist in generating punch list information and supply to PA.
  • Oversee progress and completion of punch list.
  • Initiate and follow up on project close out letter to Subcontractors, O&M’s, warranties, lien releases, punch list items, extra products and key control.
  • Assist the Project Manager in monthly margin projections; to include reviewing and verifying costs from the field for estimate to complete (ETC) development.
  • Provide positive client relations to foster future business as well as maintaining the community and industry image.
  • Responsible for promoting teamwork and good company moral.
  • Present personal conduct of the highest ethical standards.
  • Contribute in the development and expansion of historical cost data.
