Project Superintendent

Reports To: Operations Manager
Supervises: Subcontractors, Vendors, Assistant Superintendents, Foreman
Description:

Responsible for day-to-day communication, leadership, planning, organization and control necessary to “Build the Project” in accordance with the “expectations” as defined for this position. Responsible for the efficient delivery of the “SR Built” process without sacrificing the company’s commitment to quality, integrity and profits consistent with the objectives of SR Construction. The Superintendent serves as the company’s chief representative in relations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors and must always communicate a sense of urgency, teamwork, commitment, enthusiasm and passion in the efficient, on-time, delivery of projects.

Duties:

  • Deliver Projects on-time and within budget in accordance with SR Construction expectations
  • Maintain a safe and secure jobsite by following all safety requirements and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and document all jobsite activities to maintain and accelerate project schedule.
  • Actively participate in budgeting by reviewing with PM each month and mitigating potential cost overruns.
  • Review all work performed by subs to maintain highest quality control. Super to be proactive on all quality issues.
  • Provide all required documentation in the time manner required, including: time cards, daily reports, 4-week schedules, photos. Maintain current job site files and as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate with PM and subcontractors regarding change order work.
  • Responsible to schedule and know when all inspections are required; schedule and advise all parties involved accordingly both government entities and QAA.
  • Build strong client relationships
  • Display conduct and appearance that reflects positively on the Company, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Document lessons learned and/or solutions that will help improve future SR projects.
Expectations:

  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar position with a General Contractor working in commercial construction industry.
  • OSHA 30 certificate required
  • Experience scheduling and coordinating subcontractors
  • Procore experience a plus
  • Experience with Lean Construction and Pull Planning
  • Experience with healthcare preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance

Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of the job must be able to hear and talk. Is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions to include sun, heat, cold, wind, and inclement weather, and exposure to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work area is moderate and can be high at times.

Regularly: Climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Exposed to outside weather conditions. Noise level is moderate. Lift and/or move up to 30pounds. Exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.

Frequently: Sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Use hands to type, handle, or feel. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus.

Travel is required to job sites, main office, and/or professional and community organization events. A valid drivers’ license and proof of insurance of 100/300/100 is required.
